# Part One — Quick Start

## 1. What PMM on the Ground Is

PMM on the Ground is a website you open on your phone (or computer) to see the project's component list — every cabinet, fixture, door, finish, and material that's part of the build.

You can:

- **Search** — find any component by name, room, vendor, or cost code
- **Browse by category** — see everything under "Plumbing Fixtures" or "Cabinets"
- **Tap any component** to see who's making it, what it costs, when it's due, and notes
- **View photos** — when the designer attached a reference image, it shows up in the card

You don't need a login. You don't need to download anything. The web link your project manager sent you is your access. Bookmark it on your phone home screen and open it whenever you need to check something.

> **WHAT THIS REPLACES** — Before PMM on the Ground, getting an answer about a fixture or cabinet meant calling the GC, waiting for a callback, hoping they had the spec sheet handy. Now: tap, tap, you have the answer. Subs use this in front of homeowners every day.

### Audience

This guide is for subcontractors, installers, foremen, and anyone working on a Trilogy project who needs to look up component details quickly.

## 2. Getting Set Up

You don't install anything. PMM on the Ground is a website. To set it up, all you need to do is open the link your PM sent you and save it to your phone home screen.

### iPhone

1. Open the project link in **Safari** (not Chrome — Safari is what works for the home screen save)
2. Tap the **Share** button (square with an arrow pointing up)
3. Scroll and tap **Add to Home Screen**
4. Tap **Add** in the top right

Now PMM on the Ground appears as an icon on your home screen, like an app. Tap it any time.

### Android

1. Open the project link in **Chrome**
2. Tap the **menu** (three dots, upper right)
3. Tap **Add to Home screen**
4. Tap **Add**

### Computer

Just bookmark the page in your browser. No special steps needed.

> **NO PASSWORD, NO LOGIN** — The link itself is your access. Don't share it outside your project team — anyone with the link can see the project's component list.

## 3. Your First Search

When you first open PMM on the Ground, you see a search bar at the top and a list of components below it.

### Try this

1. Tap the search bar
2. Type a word — try `cabinet` or `sink` or a room name like `master bath`
3. Results appear instantly as you type

Each result is a component card with the most important info at a glance:

- **Title** — what the component is
- **Vendor** — who's making or supplying it
- **Cost Category** — what trade or division it falls under
- **Location** — what room it's in

Tap any card to see the full details (Section 7).

### What you can search for

The search box looks across all of these at once:

- Component name (`Master Vanity`, `Pendant Light Kitchen`)
- Vendor (`Heritage Cabinet Co`, `Ferguson`)
- Cost code (`06.20.10`)
- Cost category (`06 - Carpentry`)
- Room/location (`Master Bath`, `Kitchen`, `Mudroom`)
- Description text
- Notes

So if you only remember "the dark cabinet in the powder room," typing `powder cabinet` will find it.

## 4. What You're Looking At

The PMM on the Ground page has three parts:

### Top — Search & Filters

The search bar is always at the top. Below it (or behind a filter button on smaller screens) are filter chips:

- **All Categories** ← default
- **06 - Carpentry**
- **22 - Plumbing**
- **26 - Electrical**
- ...etc.

Tap a chip to see only components in that category.

### Middle — Component Cards

Every component is a card. Cards show an image (if available), the component title, the vendor, the location (room), and a category badge. Cards are sorted with the most relevant matches first when you've searched.

### Bottom — Pagination

If the project has hundreds of components, there's a "Load more" button at the bottom to see additional results.

> **THE LIST UPDATES ITSELF** — When the project manager updates a price, vendor, or note in the project's Google Sheet, PMM on the Ground reflects the change within a minute. You don't need to refresh manually — just close and reopen.

# Part Two — Core Workflows

## 5. Finding What You Need

The fastest way to find a specific component depends on what you know.

### "I know what it's called"

Type the name into search. Examples: `Powder Vanity` · `Master Tub` · `Kitchen Pendant`

Don't worry about exact wording — the search is forgiving. `powder vanity` finds the same things as `powder room vanity`.

### "I know what room it's in"

Type the room name. Examples: `Master Bath` · `Kitchen` · `Mudroom` · `Garage`

You'll see every component in that room.

### "I know the vendor"

Type the vendor name. Examples: `Heritage Cabinet` · `Ferguson` · `Restoration Hardware`

You'll see everything that vendor is supplying.

### "I know the cost code"

If you have BT in front of you with the cost code, just paste it: `06.20.10`. PMM on the Ground will show that exact line item and any related ones.

### "I just want to browse"

Don't search. Use the filter chips at the top to narrow by category, then scroll.

## 6. Filtering by Category

The category chips above the search results let you narrow to just one trade:

| 09 - Finishes | Flooring, paint, tile, wallcovering |
| 22 - Plumbing | Faucets, fixtures, toilets, tubs |
| 23 - HVAC | Equipment, registers, ductwork details |
| 26 - Electrical | Switches, outlets, panels |
| 27 - Lighting | Fixtures, lamps, sconces, recessed |
| (etc.) | (all other categories used in the project) |

Tap a chip to filter. Tap **All Categories** (or the same chip again) to clear.

You can combine filtering with searching — pick **"22 - Plumbing"** then type `master` to see only plumbing fixtures in master rooms.

## 7. Reading a Component Card

Tap any component card and you see the full details. Here's what each section tells you:

### Title & Image

The big title at top. If a designer attached a reference photo to this component, you see it here. Tap the photo to enlarge.

### Specs

Quick facts about the component:

- **Vendor** — who's making/supplying it
- **Cost Category** — trade or division
- **Cost Code** — BT cost code (if assigned)
- **Unit** — `EA`, `LF`, `SF`, etc.
- **Quantity** — how many
- **Unit Price** — price per unit
- **Amount** — total (Quantity × Unit Price, usually)
- **Allowance** — client-facing dollar allowance

### Description

Long-form description of what the component is. This is where designers explain "natural oak finish, satin sheen, no stain" or "honed Carrara marble, eased edges, 1.25 inch thick."

### Selection Details

If this is a Selection (Cabinet, Plumbing Fixture, Lighting, etc.), you also see:

- **Selection Category** — finer-grained type (e.g. "Pendant Light")
- **Manufacturer** — brand
- **Model Number** — SKU/part number
- **Finish** — material/color
- **Deadline** — when the selection decision is due

### Scope of Work

What you (or the responsible sub) need to do for this component. Read this carefully — it often contains install requirements, prep specs, or coordination notes.

### Notes

Anything else the designer or PM wanted you to know. Always read the notes.

> **WHEN A FIELD IS BLANK** — An empty field means it hasn't been filled in yet. Either the designer is still figuring it out, or the PM hasn't gotten there. Don't assume the answer is "none" — ask.

## 8. Working With Photos

Many components have a reference image attached. Tap the image to enlarge it.

Photos are typically:

- **Product shots** from a vendor's website
- **Inspiration images** the designer or homeowner picked
- **Reference samples** from the showroom visit
- **Technical drawings** for custom millwork

When you have a question about whether the thing in front of you matches what the designer wanted, the photo is the answer 80% of the time.

### When the photo is wrong

If you're sure the photo doesn't match what's actually been ordered or what's in the field, tell the PM. PMM on the Ground shows the latest photo from the project Sheet — if it's wrong there, fixing it there fixes it for everyone.

### No photo yet

Some components don't have photos attached. That's normal — not everything needs one. If you need a photo to do your work, ask the PM and they'll add one.

# Part Three — Reference

## 9. What Each Field Means

A glossary for when you see a field and aren't sure what it's telling you.

| Description | Detailed description of the component |
| Cost Category | The trade/division (e.g. "06 - Carpentry") |
| Cost Code | Specific BT cost code |
| Cost Type | Material, Labor, Subcontract, Equipment, or Other |
| Selection Category | More specific type (Pendant Light, Vanity, Faucet) |
| Unit | Unit of measure: EA, LF, SF, PR, SET |
| Quantity | How many |
| Unit Price | Price per unit |
| Amount | Total cost = Quantity × Unit Price |
| Allowance | Client-facing dollar allowance |
| Vendor | Supplier or sub responsible |
| Deadline | When a decision or delivery is due |
| Instructions | Direct instructions for the sub or vendor |
| Selections Notes | Notes specific to BT Selections workflow |
| Scope of Work | What needs to be done for this component |
| PO Date | Purchase order date |

## 10. Status & Phase Quick Guide

Two fields tell you where a component is in the workflow.

### Status

- **Concept** — Idea stage; not committed yet
- **Pending Review** — Designer has proposed; awaiting client approval
- **Approved** — Decision is made; go ahead
- **Revised** — Was approved, then changed; read carefully
- **Construction** — Currently being built or installed
- **Installed** — Complete and in place
- **As-Built** — Final, documented as built

If you see **Pending Review** or **Concept**, *don't order anything yet.* Wait for **Approved**.

### Project Phase

| Phase | When |
| --- | --- |
| Schematic Design | Earliest — concept, layout |
| Design Development | Refining the design |
| Construction Documents | Final drawings being prepared |
| Bidding | Subs being selected |
| Construction Administration | Active build phase |

Most components you'll see are in **Construction Administration** — they've been decided and are being built. If something's still in **Design Development**, the spec might change.

# Part Four — Practical Notes

## 11. Troubleshooting

### "The page won't load"

Check your phone has internet. PMM on the Ground works over normal cell data or Wi-Fi. If you have signal but the page doesn't load:

1. Close the page and reopen the link
2. Try opening it in a different browser
3. Ask your PM to verify the link is correct

### "I can't find a component I know is on this project"

A few things to try:

- Try simpler search terms (`vanity` instead of `master bedroom vanity 36 inch`)
- Clear the category filter (tap **All Categories**)
- Browse by category instead of searching
- Ask the PM to confirm the component is in the project — sometimes things get added late

### "The price/vendor I see doesn't match what I was told"

Trust the page. PMM on the Ground shows the current state of the project. If the page disagrees with an old email or PDF, the page wins. If you're confident the page is wrong, tell the PM — they'll update the project Sheet.

### "I see 'No data from PMM Horizon yet'"

This component exists in the system but hasn't had its commercial data pushed yet. The designer has tagged it but the PM hasn't filled in vendor/price. Ask the PM.

### "I tapped a category chip and now everything is empty"

That category has nothing in it. Tap **All Categories** to clear the filter.

### "I changed my phone and now I can't find the link"

Ask your PM for the link again. They have it.

### "The link my PM sent doesn't work"

Most likely the URL got cut off in the text or email. Ask for it again, copy it carefully (include everything — it's a long random string).

### "Something seems wrong with what's shown"

Always trust your eyes over what's on the screen, but also tell the PM. PMM on the Ground is fed by the project's master Sheet. If the page is wrong, the Sheet is wrong, and that needs fixing for everyone.

## 12. Privacy & Access

### Who can see this?

Anyone with the link can see the project's component list — vendors, prices, descriptions, photos, everything. **Don't share the link outside your project team.**

If the homeowner asks for access, refer them to the PM. PMs decide who gets the link.

### Can I edit anything?

No. PMM on the Ground is read-only. You can't change prices, vendors, or notes from your phone. If something needs changing, ask the PM and they'll update the master Sheet (which auto-updates the page).

### Will photos of me/the site appear here?

No. PMM on the Ground only shows component reference photos that the designer attached. It doesn't access your phone's camera, photos, or location.

### Is this saving my searches?

No. PMM on the Ground doesn't track what you search for or store any personal info about you.
